The average gross monthly wage in Poland's national economy was PLN 8,903.56 in 2025, as announced by the President of Statistics Poland (GUS) in a notice of February 9, 2026. That is about $2,293 a month at the European Central Bank rate of October 16, 2026. This is the official "average wage" used in Polish pension law, covering all employees in the national economy. Employer social contributions add about 20.48% on top, a total built from secondary-source rate tables because official ZUS pages did not load, so an employee on the average wage costs roughly PLN 10,727 a month before any provider fee.
The average Polish wage (przeciętne wynagrodzenie w gospodarce narodowej) is the mean gross monthly pay across the national economy that GUS announces each year for pension and benefit calculations.

Which Polish average this is
Poland has two average wage series, and they are easy to mix up. The figure here, PLN 8,903.56, is the annual national-economy average GUS announces under the pension benefits act. It is a mean of gross pay, before the employee's social contributions (13.71% plus a 9% health contribution, per secondary-source rate tables) and income tax.
GUS also publishes a monthly average for the enterprise sector, covering companies with 10 or more staff. That series runs higher and comes out every month, but it is a different measure. A median wage is published only in GUS's wage structure survey every two years, which we have not used, so we quote no median.
For 2026, the forecast average wage is PLN 9,420 a month, and the cap on pension and disability contributions is 30 times that, PLN 282,600 a year (Ministry notice of November 19, 2025, as reported by podatki.biz, a secondary source). The notice gives no regional split, so there is no official Warsaw figure here.
Employer contributions on the average wage
The employer's share of social insurance in Poland totals about 20.48% at standard rates, based on 2026 rate tables from secondary sources (official ZUS pages did not load for our research):
- Pension (emerytalne) 9.76%
- Disability (rentowe) 6.50%
- Accident (wypadkowe) 1.67%, the default we assume for a small employer; actual rates run 0.67% to 3.33% by risk
- Labor Fund, including the Solidarity Fund, 2.45%
- Employee benefits guarantee fund (FGŚP) 0.10%
On PLN 8,903.56 a month that is PLN 1,823.45, for a total of PLN 10,727.01 a month. Over a year, the salary of PLN 106,842.72 is well under the PLN 282,600 cap, so the pension and disability rates apply all year. Employee capital plan (PPK) contributions, if the worker stays enrolled, add more. Our Poland employer of record page has the full employer picture.
Without a Polish company, you hire through an employer of record (EOR). Published fees checked October 16, 2026 range from $99 a month (Native Teams, whose help center says EUR 99) to $699 (Oyster), with Deel at $599. The EOR pricing guide lists what each includes.
