The average gross monthly wage in the Czech Republic was CZK 49,215 in 2025, according to preliminary figures from the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO), up 7.2% on 2024. That is about $2,277 a month when the koruna is converted through the euro (ECB, October 16, 2026). Employers pay 33.8% on top for social security (24.8%, official) and health insurance (9%, from a secondary source), so an average salary costs CZK 65,849.67 a month before any employer of record fee.
The average wage in the Czech Republic is CZSO's mean gross monthly wage per full-time equivalent employee in the national economy.

Average versus median in CZSO data
CZSO divides total wages by the recalculated number of employees, so part-timers count as fractions of a full-time job. It notes that about two thirds of employees earn less than the average. The median for the fourth quarter of 2025 was CZK 45,523 (men CZK 48,342, women CZK 42,692), against a fourth-quarter average of CZK 52,283. Real wages grew 4.6% in 2025.
Two caveats. The 2025 figures were preliminary, with a revision due in June 2026 that we have not read. And CZSO says it will not publish medians or deciles for 2026 because their data source was discontinued. Eurostat's national accounts cross-check gives CZK 602,841 per full-time equivalent employee for 2024, or CZK 50,236.75 a month. Regional and industry levels are in CZSO tables not read for this page.
Hourly pay, students and the minimum wage
CZSO's headline is monthly, not hourly. The hourly floor is set by law: the 2026 minimum wage is CZK 22,400 a month or CZK 134.40 an hour on a 40-hour week (Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, MPSV). Our sources show one national rate with no separate rate for students. The monthly minimum is 45.5% of the 2025 average. See the Czech minimum wage page for how the rate is set.
