Rivermate
Rivermate publishes a price range rather than a teaser floor, includes 24/7 support with a dedicated account manager, and lets either side leave on 30 days' notice. It owns entities in only 38 countries, says nothing about FX, and its payment terms are tight.

Where your country falls in the range decides whether Rivermate undercuts most rivals or costs more than Deel's $599. Get the country price in writing. On top of fees you fund a deposit, described below, within 5 days of signing each statement of work. Employer costs by country are in our EOR employer cost index.
Deposit, payment and exit terms
The terms below come from Rivermate's EoR Agreement (last updated July 1, 2025). None of them appear on the pricing page.
Deposit
Exhibit A section 3.3 requires a Fee Deposit of a set number of months of the Consulting Fee plus one month's Management Fee, payable within 5 days of the statement of work start date. The number of months is a blank in the published template, so ask what yours will be. It is returned within 60 days after all final invoices are paid.
Payment
Invoices are due within 5 days. Late interest is 0.15% per day, which is 54.75% over a year (0.15% x 365). Rivermate cannot raise its Management Fee without mutual written agreement, but fees follow cost increases set by local law. FX is not addressed: charges are calculated in the customer's local currency.
Term and exit
The agreement starts with a 12-month term that renews automatically for one-year terms. Either side may end it on at least 30 days' written notice, and either side may end a single employee's statement of work on 30 days' notice, or longer where law requires. There is no offboarding fee, but termination indemnity and related costs pass through to you. Dutch law applies, with arbitration in Rotterdam.
Set up payment so invoices clear within 5 days. At 0.15% a day, a late invoice gets expensive fast.
Entity model, coverage and support
Rivermate covers 180+ countries and says it has "38 owned entities around the world", so most countries run through partners. Rivermate says Remunance (an India EOR) is now part of Rivermate, along with Eos, Serviap and Hightekers EOR. Ask whether your country is one of the 38; our employer of record guide covers why it matters.
Support is 24/7 from real people, by phone and WhatsApp, with a dedicated account manager. Rivermate states GDPR compliance; the SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications on its security page belong to AWS, its host, not to Rivermate.
Reviews and complaints
Rivermate holds 4.9 from 109 reviews on G2. On Trustpilot its TrustScore is withheld for a breach of Trustpilot's guidelines, with a notice that fake reviews were removed, across 22 reviews (both seen October 18, 2026). Some star ratings there do not match the review text. The complaints that remain:
- Slow replies: two reviewers in December 2024, more than a year old.
- Late salary: a February salary paid late (review dated March 26, 2026), later resolved.
- Tax issues: early tax problems (April 2, 2026), later resolved.
What works
- Published price range, not just a floor
- Exit on 30 days' notice
- 24/7 human support by phone and WhatsApp
- No onboarding or offboarding fees
Watch out for
- Only 38 owned entities for 180+ countries
- Invoices due in 5 days, 0.15% daily late interest
- 12-month term that auto-renews
- Trustpilot rating withheld
Who Rivermate fits, and who it does not
Rivermate fits a small company that wants a human on the phone at any hour and the freedom to leave on a month's notice, hiring in a country near the low end of the range.
Look elsewhere if you need an owned entity in your country, cannot pay invoices within 5 days, or want a clean public review record.

How Rivermate scores
Rivermate scores 64/100 on our EOR method. A low price floor, 30-day exit notice and 24/7 human support carry it; the partner-heavy entity model, unaddressed FX and a withheld Trustpilot rating hold it back. For context, Multiplier scores 79 and Oyster 64. The rules are in how we score providers.
| Criterion | Points | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Price per employee | 22 of 25 | Publishes EOR at $319 to $639 per employee per month depending on country and hire type, and the $319 floor falls in the $300 to $399 band (22). |
| Hidden costs disclosed | 9 of 20 | The EoR Agreement sets a deposit of a set number of months of the Consulting Fee plus one month's Management Fee, refunded within 60 days, with the month count left blank (3); FX is not addressed (0); no offboarding fee, but termination indemnity and related costs pass through (3); no onboarding fee, but the price moves across the $319 to $639 range and visas are priced on request (3). |
| Entity ownership and country coverage | 12 of 20 | Says it has 38 owned entities while covering 180+ countries, so most countries run through partners (4); 180+ countries (8). |
| Contract terms | 10 of 15 | A 12-month initial term that auto-renews, but either side may end it on 30 days' notice (3); 30 days' written notice (5); late interest of 0.15% per day and yearly auto-renewal (2). |
| Support and compliance help | 8 of 10 | Claims 24/7 support from real people with phone and WhatsApp listed (5) and a dedicated account manager (3). |
| Documented complaint patterns | 3 of 10 | Trustpilot withholds Rivermate's rating for a guideline breach (0 of 4); slow replies, a late salary and early tax problems leave 3 of 6. |
| Total | 64 of 100 |

Our verdict
Bottom line: Rivermate scores 64/100. Its 30-day exit and 24/7 support beat many larger EORs, and the low end of its range is cheap. Ask for your country's price, the deposit months and whether your country is one of its 38 owned entities, and pay invoices on time.
