The median monthly earnings of full-time wage and salary earners in Finland were EUR 3,615 in 2024, according to Statistics Finland's Structure of Earnings release of June 8, 2026, the latest year available. Median first: how Statistics Finland reports pay

Statistics Finland leads with the median, and its EUR 3,615 counts only full-time employees, using total earnings before tax. An earlier November 2025 release put the 2024 median at EUR 3,611 and the mean at EUR 4,070; the June 2026 revision adjusted the median and did not restate the mean. The gap of more than EUR 450 between the two tells you how far high earners pull the average up.

Uusimaa against the rest, IT against hospitality

The Helsinki region pays most. Uusimaa's full-time median was EUR 3,967 a month, and South Ostrobothnia was lowest at EUR 3,286. The industry spread is wider: information and communication had a median of EUR 4,990, while accommodation and food service had EUR 2,720, a little over half of that. All of these are medians, so you can compare them with the national EUR 3,615 directly.

Finland has no statutory minimum wage. Generally binding sector collective agreements set pay floors, and they apply to non-member employers too. The Finnish minimum pay rules explain how to find yours. We do not publish salaries by job title.

Employer cost on a median Finnish salary

The confirmed part is the TyEL pension. Tela, the Finnish Pension Alliance, puts the 2026 average total contribution at 24.4%, of which the employer pays 17.1% on average (it varies by provider and company size).

  • Gross at the median: EUR 3,615 a month, EUR 43,380 a year
  • Employer TyEL at 17.1%: EUR 618.17 a month, EUR 7,417.98 a year
  • Subtotal: EUR 50,797.98 a year

Employer health insurance, unemployment insurance, statutory accident insurance and group life insurance come on top. Their 2026 rates were not confirmed for this page, so the subtotal understates the real cost. Many collective agreements are also said to add a holiday bonus (lomaraha), which we have not confirmed, so ask whether yours does. The international cost calculator runs the confirmed rates at other salaries.

Hiring in Finland through an EOR

Provider price pages, read on October 16, 2026, put the monthly EOR fee anywhere from $99 (Native Teams, whose help center says EUR 99) to $699 (Oyster). Deel charges $599 a month, $7,188 a year. Ask the provider which TyEL insurer it uses and which collective agreement it applies, since both change your bill.

The Finland EOR guide covers contracts and termination. Compare Swedish pay and Estonian pay, or see ranked EOR providers.
