Mean, median and what SCB counts
SCB's figures are gross monthly salaries for employees in every sector. The mean, SEK 42,900, is 1.12 times the median, SEK 38,300: a narrower gap than in Spain (1.21) or Germany (1.19). Women averaged SEK 40,600 and men SEK 45,100. The mean has risen from SEK 38,300 in 2022 to SEK 39,900 in 2023, SEK 41,600 in 2024 and SEK 42,900 in 2025.
Wage structure statistics are usually expressed as full-time equivalent monthly pay, but the table pages we read do not say so, so treat that as likely rather than confirmed. These are individual wages; household income is a different measure that this table does not cover. Salaries are monthly; twelve times the mean is SEK 514,800 a year.

No statutory minimum wage
Sweden has no minimum wage in law. Pay floors come from sector collective agreements between unions and employer organizations and differ by agreement, job and age; our Sweden minimum pay page explains how they work. Vacation and parental rules are on the Swedish leave page. For Nordic comparisons, see Danish average earnings and average pay in Norway, or check the EOR cost index.
