Paycom does not publish prices: its pricing page says "Paycom provides customized pricing" and that a one-time implementation fee applies (checked October 16, 2026). The most detailed dated estimate comes from a quote Fit Small Business received (updated July 7, 2026): $4 to $6 per employee per pay run, $6.95 per W-2, a $75 annual transmittal fee, and implementation of $500 for 15 employees or $1,200 for 40.

On that estimate, 10 employees paid biweekly would cost $1,184.50 to $1,704.50 a year before implementation. Paycom, the payroll company behind the Beti employee-checked payroll system, also publishes no tax guarantee or exit terms, so those belong in your quote.

Paycom is a single-database HR and payroll software company that sells payroll, time, HR and talent tools to midsize and larger US employers by custom quote.

Our score
12/10012th of 15 payroll providers

Paycom is an all-in-one HR and payroll system built on a single database and sold through a sales team. Its best-known feature is Beti, employee-driven payroll, where employees check their own paycheck before payroll runs. Paycom says every client gets a dedicated specialist at no extra cost. What it does not publish is any price, any tax guarantee terms, or any contract or cancellation terms. Our score of 12 reflects that missing information rather than a judgment on the software; see how we score providers. We did not test Paycom.

One quote is one data point. Your rate will depend on headcount, pay frequency and modules, and Fit Small Business does not say which package its quote covered. Our research does not show whether the $4 time and attendance charge is per pay run or per month; ask.

Estimated Paycom cost for 5, 10 and 25 employees

Paycom's estimate is per pay run, so pay frequency drives the bill. The table assumes biweekly payroll (26 runs a year) and one W-2 per employee. Weekly payroll (52 runs) doubles the run fees.

Estimated yearly Paycom payroll cost, biweekly pay, before implementation
Item5 employees10 employees25 employees
Run fees, $4 to $6 × employees × 26$520 to $780$1,040 to $1,560$2,600 to $3,900
W-2s at $6.95 each5 × $6.95 = $34.7510 × $6.95 = $69.5025 × $6.95 = $173.75
Annual transmittal$75$75$75
Estimated year$629.75 to $889.75$1,184.50 to $1,704.50$2,848.75 to $4,148.75
Per month (year ÷ 12)$52.48 to $74.15$98.71 to $142.04$237.40 to $345.73

Estimate: Fit Small Business, from a quote it received (article updated Jul 7, 2026). Not a Paycom published price. Our arithmetic.

Implementation on top: the same quote put implementation at $500 for 15 employees and $1,200 for 40. We do not stretch those two figures to other headcounts. For a 15-person company, the estimated first year is the run fees ($4 to $6 × 15 × 26 = $1,560 to $2,340), plus 15 W-2s ($104.25), the $75 transmittal and $500 implementation: $2,239.25 to $3,019.25.

Against published prices: 10 employees on OnPay cost 12 × $109 = $1,308 a year with W-2s included and no implementation fee, and Gusto Simple costs the same $1,308 for one state. So the low end of the Paycom estimate is close to small business payroll pricing, and the high end is $1,704.50 minus $1,308 = $396.50 more, before implementation. The case for Paycom is the HR suite and employee self-checking, not the price. See what payroll services cost and enterprise payroll pricing.

Questions to put in your Paycom quote request

Because nothing is published, the quote is your only price protection. Ask for each of these in writing:

  1. The per-employee rate, and whether it is charged per pay run or per month.
  2. The implementation fee for your exact headcount, and what it covers (data migration, prior payroll entry for the current year, state setups).
  3. Per-form year-end charges (W-2s, 1099s) and any annual transmittal fee.
  4. Prices for off-cycle runs, corrections and amended returns.
  5. Module prices for time and attendance, benefits administration and HR, listed one by one.
  6. The contract length, renewal terms, any price increase cap and the notice needed to leave.
  7. How long you and your employees keep access to W-2s and reports after the contract ends.

Comparing the same list across vendors is the only fair way to judge quote-only suites. Our Paycom vs Paylocity comparison does that with the estimates we have.

Paycom and payroll taxes

Paycom lists "payroll tax management and filing" among its features but does not say which states or local taxes it covers, whether it registers new state accounts, or whether it pays penalties and interest when it makes a filing error. No guarantee terms are published on the pages in our research.

Ask for the tax service agreement before you sign: who pays penalties and interest when Paycom files late or wrong, how fast you must forward a notice, and any cap. Small business providers such as OnPay publish this in their terms; see our OnPay review.

Contract, cancellation and records after you leave

Paycom does not publish a contract length, renewal terms, a cancellation process or how long you keep access to records. The only published contract fact is the one-time implementation fee. Because that fee is paid once up front, leaving in the first year costs more than the per-run fees alone suggest.

  • Get the notice period and any early termination fee in the signed order form.
  • Ask for a written promise of admin and employee access to W-2s and pay stubs for a set period after you leave.
  • If you leave mid-year, agree who files the current quarter's Form 941 and the year's W-2s (2026 forms are due February 1, 2027), and keep filing any state wage reports. A missed report after a switch sent one owner's unemployment rate from 0.8% to 12.75% (Hacker News, August 2026).

Paycom support

Paycom says "ongoing support from a dedicated specialist is provided to clients at no cost." It does not publish phone, chat or email channels or support hours on the pages we checked. A named specialist can be an advantage over a general line, so ask for that person's hours, a backup contact and the response time for a payroll-day problem.

Paycom reviews and complaints

Paycom has 4.7 out of 5 from 11,663 reviews on G2 and 3.9 out of 5 from 718 reviews on Trustpilot (both seen October 16, 2026). The Trustpilot reviews we read across payroll providers are mostly billing, cancellation and support disputes, which may explain part of the gap. Among the quote-only suites we review, Paycom's 3.9 on Trustpilot is the highest: Paylocity has 1.3, Paycor 1.6 and isolved 3.0.

We have not documented recurring Paycom complaints from individual reviews yet; they were not read in this research pass, so we describe no pattern here.

How we score Paycom

Paycom scores 12 out of 100, 12th of the 15 payroll providers we score. It ties Paylocity on points and ranks ahead on our complaint tiebreak, and sits above isolved and Paycor (10 each). The 11 providers above it, from Patriot (69) down to Rippling (21), publish more of their prices, tax terms or exit terms.

Paycom does not publish prices; its pricing page says "Paycom provides customized pricing" (checked October 16, 2026). Fit Small Business, from a quote it received (updated July 7, 2026), reports $4 to $6 per employee per pay run, $6.95 per W-2 and a $75 annual transmittal fee. These are third-party estimates, not Paycom prices.
Does Paycom charge an implementation fee?
Yes. Paycom's pricing page (checked October 16, 2026) says a one-time implementation fee applies but does not give the amount. Fit Small Business's July 2026 quote put it at $500 for 15 employees and $1,200 for 40.
What would Paycom cost for 10 employees?
Using Fit Small Business's July 2026 quote of $4 to $6 per employee per pay run, 10 employees paid biweekly would cost $1,040 to $1,560 a year in run fees, plus $69.50 for W-2s and $75 for the transmittal: $1,184.50 to $1,704.50 before implementation. This is an estimate, not a Paycom price.
Does Paycom pay payroll tax penalties?
Paycom lists "payroll tax management and filing" as a feature but publishes no guarantee terms on the pages HRPricing checked on October 16, 2026. Ask for the tax service agreement in writing, including who pays penalties and interest and how fast you must forward a notice.
How do I cancel Paycom?
Paycom does not publish cancellation terms, contract length or record access rules on the pages HRPricing checked (October 16, 2026). Get the notice period, any early termination fee and post-contract W-2 access written into your order form before you sign.
Is Paycom good for small businesses?
Paycom is built and sold as a full HR suite for midsize and larger employers. At 10 employees, the dated Fit Small Business estimate ($1,184.50 to $1,704.50 a year before implementation) overlaps OnPay's published $1,308 a year, but Paycom adds an implementation fee and publishes no exit terms.
