One national rate for the whole of 2026

There are no regional or sector rates: the same TRY 33,030.00 gross applies in Istanbul, Ankara and every province, from January 1 to December 31, 2026. The Minimum Wage Determination Commission (Asgari Ücret Tespit Komisyonu) fixes the amount, and the decision usually comes in December for the following January. The 2027 rate had not been announced as of October 18, 2026.

If you searched for the 2025 rate: the ministry publishes past rates only in downloadable Excel and PDF files, which we did not read, so this page does not quote earlier figures. In 2022 and 2023 there were two rates a year, so check the date range of any older number you find.

Gross to net at the minimum wage

The employee pays social security (SGK) of 14% and unemployment insurance of 1%. Income tax and stamp duty are not deducted on the minimum wage.

  • SGK employee share: 14% x 33,030 = TRY 4,624.20
  • Unemployment insurance: 1% x 33,030 = TRY 330.30
  • Net pay: TRY 28,075.50, 85% of gross

Over twelve months that is TRY 396,360 gross and TRY 336,906 net (our arithmetic). Turkey has no statutory 13th salary.

Employer cost and the SGK incentives

The employer pays SGK of 21.75% (after the short-term insurance premium rose from 2% to 2.25%) and unemployment insurance of 2%, 23.75% in all. Incentives cut the SGK share:

  • No incentive: 33,030 x 1.2375 = TRY 40,874.63 a month
  • 2-point incentive (most non-manufacturing employers): 33,030 x 1.2175 = TRY 40,214.03
  • 5-point incentive (manufacturing only): 33,030 x 1.1875 = TRY 39,223.13

Without an incentive the yearly cost is TRY 490,495.56. The SGK contribution ceiling for 2026 was not confirmed. Compare Turkey with other countries in the employer cost index.

Hourly and daily figures

The ministry states the rate as a monthly gross amount and publishes daily values only in downloadable files, which we did not read. We also have not confirmed the standard weekly hours on an official page for this update, so this page does not give an hourly minimum. If you pay hourly or part-time staff, take the daily figure from the ministry's own file.

Paying a Turkish employee compliantly

An employer of record registers the employee with SGK, applies the right incentive and runs monthly payroll in lira. Monthly EOR list prices go from $99 at Native Teams (its help center says EUR 99) to $699 at Oyster (checked October 16 and 18, 2026). Deel lists $599, close to the full gross minimum wage of about $667. With lira pay and a dollar fee, the fee's weight also moves with the exchange rate.

The Turkey EOR guide covers SGK costs, notice and severance. Compare ranked EOR providers and EOR fees compared, read about setting up your own entity instead, or compare the Greek and Bulgarian minimum wages.
