The Dominican Republic's minimum wage for large companies in the private non-sectorized sector is RD$29,988.00 a month from February 1, 2026, set by the National Wage Committee (Comité Nacional de Salarios) in Resolution CNS-01-2025 of February 26, 2025. That is about $506 a month, using the US Treasury's September 30, 2026 rate of RD$59.26 per dollar. Smaller firms have lower floors, down to RD$16,993.20 for micro companies, and employer social security adds 15.29% to 15.49% on top.

The Dominican Republic minimum wage is a set of monthly floors fixed by the National Wage Committee by company size and, separately, by sector.

Rates by company size

There is no single national pay floor. For the private non-sectorized sector, Resolution CNS-01-2025 sets four monthly rates from February 1, 2026:

  • Large companies: RD$29,988.00
  • Medium companies: RD$27,489.60
  • Small companies: RD$18,421.20
  • Micro companies: RD$16,993.20

The micro rate is 56.7% of the large-company rate, so the size band you fall into changes the floor by more than RD$12,900 a month. Free zones, hotels and restaurants, construction, private security and agriculture have their own resolutions, which we have not read. Confirm the band and sector with your payroll provider.

Do not confuse these with the RD$23,223.00 "salario mínimo nacional" used by the social security system (TSS and SISALRIL) from February 1, 2026. That figure is a unit for contribution caps, not a pay floor for any group of workers.

Monthly and yearly amounts

The resolution states monthly amounts. For a large company: RD$29,988 x 12 = RD$359,856 a year. Standard weekly hours were not confirmed in our sources, so we do not convert the rate to an hourly figure.

A 20% rise in two steps

CNS-01-2025 raised the non-sectorized rates by about 20% in two stages. The first applied from April 1, 2025: RD$27,988.80 (large), RD$25,656.96 (medium), RD$17,193.12 (small) and RD$15,860.32 (micro). The second, from February 1, 2026, lifted each band by another 7.1%. No further change had been announced when we checked.

Employer contributions on a minimum wage

The Social Security Treasury (TSS) collects three employer contributions: family health insurance (SFS) at 7.09%, pensions (AFP) at 7.10% and occupational risk insurance (SRL) at 1.10% to 1.30% depending on the risk factor. All three caps sit well above the minimum wage (the lowest, SRL, is RD$92,892.00 a month).

  • Large-company minimum: RD$29,988.00 a month
  • SFS RD$2,126.15, AFP RD$2,129.15, SRL RD$329.87 to RD$389.84
  • Monthly cost: RD$34,573.17 to RD$34,633.14, about $583 to $584

The INFOTEP training contribution was not confirmed and is not included. Ask about the Christmas salary (regalía pascual) and termination pay too. Model other salaries with the international cost calculator.

Paying Dominican staff through an EOR

An employer of record registers with TSS and applies the right band. Monthly provider fees run from $99 at the cheapest published price (Native Teams, whose help center says EUR 99) to $699 at Oyster, as of October 16, 2026; the EOR cost index lists every provider. Deel's $599 a month is more than the dollar value of the large-company minimum itself.
