AlphaStaff does not publish a price: its homepage offers a quote request and shows no fee, minimum or contract terms (checked October 18, 2026). We did not find AlphaStaff on the IRS active certified PEO list (report date August 7, 2026) under any name containing Alpha or AlphaStaff, and most of alphastaff.com blocks automated reading, so very little about it can be checked.

Why the missing CPEO listing matters
Under 26 USC 3511, a certified PEO is treated as the employer for federal employment taxes on the wages it pays, and Social Security and FUTA wage bases carry over when a client joins or leaves mid-year. Those rules apply only to certified PEOs. AlphaStaff may hold certification under an entity name we did not match, so ask which entity will sign your contract, its EIN, and whether that entity is on the IRS list. What an AlphaStaff quote should be compared with
With no AlphaStaff figures to show, use published ones. ADP's PEO cost guide (updated July 14, 2026) puts industry admin fees at about $40 to $160 per employee per month, or 2% to 12% of payroll. For 10 employees that is 10 x $40 = $400 to 10 x $160 = $1,600 a month before premiums, workers' comp and payroll taxes. Questions to ask AlphaStaff
- Which entity signs the contract, and is it on the IRS active CPEO list?
- Is the admin fee flat per employee or a percent of payroll, and is there a setup fee or minimum?
- Which states do you serve, and which carriers and plans are open in each?
- What are the contract term, notice period and exit fee?
- What are support hours and channels, and who is our named contact?
- Who issues W-2s for the year we leave, and how long can former employees reach the portal?
AlphaStaff reviews
G2 shows 4.3 from 2 reviews and Trustpilot shows none (October 18, 2026). The one complaint on G2 mentions limited customization and a dated interface. Two reviews cannot show a pattern; ask for client references at your size.
