A global PEO, or international professional employer organization, is a provider that legally employs workers for you in countries where your company has no entity, handling local payroll, taxes, benefits and contracts. Most providers now call this an employer of record (EOR). Published fees run $99 (Native Teams, whose help center says EUR 99) to $699 (Oyster) per employee a month, with Rivermate at $319 to $639 (pricing pages checked October 16 and 18, 2026).

Global PEO: a provider that employs workers on your behalf in other countries, through its own or partner entities, so you can hire there without setting up a company; the same service most providers call an employer of record.

A US PEO cannot employ someone in Mexico or India under its US tax ID. If you hire abroad, you need an entity, an EOR or a contractor setup. Justworks, for example, sells its EOR as a separate $599 per employee add-on. More in PEO vs EOR and what an employer of record does.

  • FX and termination costs: ask for both in writing. See EOR pricing explained.

Frequently asked questions

What is an international professional employer organization?
It is a provider that employs workers for you in other countries, through its own or partner local entities, and runs their payroll, taxes and benefits. Most providers call the service an employer of record (EOR).
Is a global PEO the same as an EOR?
In practice, yes. A US PEO is a co-employer inside the US. A global PEO is the legal employer in the worker's country, which is how an EOR works.
How much does a global PEO cost?
Published fees run $99 to $699 per employee a month (Native Teams from $99, Payoneer Workforce Management from $199, Pebl $399, Playroll from $399, Deel $599, Remote from $599, Oyster $699; checked October 16 and 18, 2026), plus salary, employer contributions and any deposit.
Can a US PEO employ people abroad?
Not as a PEO. Some PEO providers sell an EOR separately: Justworks lists an EOR add-on at $599 per employee a month (checked October 16, 2026).
Do global PEOs charge a deposit?
Some do. Playroll states a refundable deposit of one month's salary per employee; Oyster and Papaya Global require one without stating an amount; Remote says startups pay no deposit (pricing pages checked October 16, 2026).
