Who the RMV covers

The RMV is one national figure, stated per month, for workers in the private-sector labor regime. The decree sets no regional rates, so the same PEN 1,230 applies in Lima, Arequipa and Cusco.

The decree states a monthly amount only. It does not publish an hourly or daily equivalent, so if you pay a full-time employee monthly, compare against PEN 1,230 directly. The October 2026 increase and the 2027 step

DS 015-2026-TR raises the RMV by PEN 170 in two steps. The first PEN 100 took effect on October 1, 2026. The remaining PEN 70 needs another supreme decree, due in the first half of 2027, and the effective date has not been fixed.

For 2026 payroll that means nine months at PEN 1,130 and three at PEN 1,230, PEN 13,860 in base pay across the calendar year. A full year at the new rate is PEN 14,760. Before 2025 the RMV was PEN 1,025, so the floor will have risen 27% by the time the PEN 1,300 step lands.

What a minimum-wage employee costs you

The one employer contribution in our research is EsSalud health insurance: 9% of monthly pay, paid by the employer alone, according to Deloitte's Peru Highlights 2026 (a secondary source from January 2026; the gob.pe pages could not be read). At PEN 1,230 that is PEN 110.70 a month; at PEN 1,300 it will be PEN 117.00. Pension contributions (ONP or a private AFP) are withheld from the employee's pay, not added to your cost.

That is not the whole bill. Peruvian payroll also includes statutory bonuses (gratificaciones), severance-fund deposits (CTS), a family allowance for workers with children and life insurance. We have not yet confirmed those rules and amounts from an official source, so we do not put numbers on them here. Ask any provider to list each one on the quote. Paying a Peruvian employee from abroad

Without a Peruvian company, an employer of record can hire on its own entity, register the worker with EsSalud and run the bonus and CTS calendar. Published fees run from $99 a month (Native Teams, whose help center says EUR 99) to $699 (Oyster), checked October 16 and 18, 2026, and Deel lists $599.
